Surviving Miami Beach Part 2
An important part of surviving any adventure is having a good escape route. For this we turned to Google mass transit direction search. Google wanted us to take three buses to get to the airport from our hostel, this was unacceptable. Next resource, ask the hostel staff. They advised us to take two buses, the M to 41st and Sheridan and then the J to the airport. While looking for the M bus we bumped into a Jamaican chef on his way to or from work - we aren't really sure.
Surviving Miami Beach Part 1
We begin our South American tour in Miami, about as close to South America as you can get in the U.S. We arrived by train then an hour plus bus ride to our south beach hostel. The bus dropped us off like 12 blocks from our hostel so we had our first walking with our heavy packs experience. Hot, humid, sticky, rainy weather and heavy packs are not a good combo.
We can see Jazz Hostel at South beach about a block away because of the huge Monster (energy drink) truck parked outside as well as the crowds of people spilling onto the street and the loud dance party music.
